Women's Biz is the quarterly newsletter of the Shoalhaven Women's Health Centre filled with up and coming activities/ events and interesting information. Current copies are available from the Centre and Centre members also receive regular current newsletters.

Music Night Fundraiser

Tomerong Hall Saturday 20 November 2010 7.00pm

Tickets were $20 a head and included glass of wine and nibbles BYO Drinks and Supper and free entry in the lucky door prize! Tickets may be purchased from Shoalhaven Women Health Centre. For more information contact the Centre on 4421 0730.

Proceeds directly assisted Shoalhaven Women's Health Centre !!

What an enjoyable night this was - Bands were GREAT! Excellent night let's hope that we can re-run this event in 2011

International Women's Day

International Women's Day falls on the 8 March every year and is celebrated by women throughout the world. It is an important occasion to celebrate the achievements and gains made by women and to focus on the work still to do in working towards equality for women.

In some countries - mainly in Europe IWD is an official holiday and is given the same amount of reverence as Mothers Day although Australia has not caught up with this yet!

The Shoalhaven has been celebrating IWD since 1992 when the first public awareness of IWD was celebrated by a Rally down Junction Street - a most outrageous event in the then conservative country town of Nowra.

The IWD Collective formed in 1992 by Sandra Lee and now known as the IWD Committee is supported by a group of strong and determined local women who each year ensure that women of all ages in the Shoalhaven can participate in events ranging from multicultural foods of the International Women's Day Lunch to the energetic Dance Nights, Bushwalking, Learn to Surf session, IWD Award Presentations and the Women's only performance night at Tomerong Hall - some of these events are for women only - for more information of events for the current year and a picture gallery visit shoalhaveninternationalwomensday.org.au
